Disaster Recovery

Tardis 4G has you covered when fibre lets you down. There are millions of businesses without a fibre connection so even if your site, marketing suite or business still uses ISDN or a DSL line, it’s all the same to us, we’ll get you connected.

We often get asked what happens if 4G isn’t available as download speeds and bandwidth are essential, however, regardless of where your site or business is, our 4G solutions have automated 3G back-up if 4G isn’t sufficient in your area which means you’ll still be able to work, albeit slower, but it’s better than nothing.

The next big question is how much data will you use...? This is easy because we manage and control all SIMs on our own portal, so, regardless of need, we can monitor your data forecast for the month whether it’s as low as 100Gb and up to 1.2Tb. We recommend how much data you should start with and if it’s not enough, we upgrade your device on-the-spot. One of the best things about our temporary service is we only require one month minimum hire so you can forget long contract periods.

How many devices can connect to the Tardis router?
We base everything on simultaneous users from smart-phones to desktop computers. On average, we expect 30 devices can be connected at one time but it can be more or less depending on bandwidth. Users may notice a drop in performance after 10 heavy users are connected which is normal on a construction site when people are downloading/uploading blueprint files etc.

What level of bandwidth can I expect?
Bandwidth is all to do with the mobile network. We are a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) which usually means we resell one network, but, Tardis is a virtual provider for all the major operators. If you’re using O2 or Three in Scotland, you might only be getting a download speed of 30Mb but the same networks can provide a quicker service in Newcastle, as an example. This will affect the bandwidth and is the same for EE (Orange & T-Mobile) and Vodafone across the UK.

Are there any limitations on 4G?
If data charges are a concern to you, please speak to us and explain your situation for us to understand your requirements. If you’re not so fussed about investing in your back-up service, you can choose whichever package you want and please remember, we are here to advise you on the most suitable solution for your business.
